How to Plan a BCBA Fieldwork Hours Timeline

Estimate a BCBA fieldwork timeline from completed hours, remaining hours, and a realistic monthly pace—without treating the estimate as a guarantee.

A completion estimate is a planning scenario, not a promise. Your actual timeline depends on the fieldwork path, applicable requirements, the hours you accrue, and any changes to your schedule.

Start with the right goal and current totals

Use the supervised or concentrated fieldwork goal that applies to your situation. Enter your independent and supervised totals, including restricted and unrestricted work, from records you have reviewed.

Compare more than one monthly pace

Divide the hours remaining by a realistic monthly average. Try a conservative pace as well as your typical pace, and account for breaks, holidays, and periods when less fieldwork is available.

Check the unrestricted share across total hours

The unrestricted benchmark is evaluated across your overall fieldwork totals, not as a requirement that every month independently reach the same percentage. Keep monthly tracking separate from the cumulative goal.

Confirm your chosen path and requirements with current official BACB materials and your supervisor. An estimate does not determine eligibility or verify accrued experience.
