A Monthly Fieldwork Review Checklist for BCBA Trainees

A practical monthly review routine for BCBA fieldwork hours, supervision, contacts, observations, and verification records.

A monthly review helps turn individual fieldwork entries into a clear summary. It is a chance to compare your records with the requirements that apply to you and follow up on unanswered questions.

Review the month in a consistent order

  1. Confirm the date range. Review one calendar month at a time and check for missing or duplicate entries.
  2. Reconcile hours. Compare your supervised and independent totals with the source records you maintain.
  3. Check supervision details. Review the applicable percentage, individual supervision, and any contact or observation requirements for your rule set.
  4. Track cumulative composition separately. The 60% unrestricted benchmark applies to total fieldwork, not as a pass/fail test for every individual month.
  5. Resolve open items. Note unclear entries or documentation questions and discuss them with your supervisor before verification.

Pre-2027 and 2027 BCBA requirements use different observation and contact rules. Use the official guidance for your applicable requirements; an online checker cannot determine whether your full experience qualifies.

Use the monthly compliance checker or prepare a verification form for review.
